Encounters Counseling and Recovery LLC Mission Statement/Statement of Faith
Mission Statement
Encounters was founded from a heart of service, and it is our intention that everyone who walks through our doors will have an encounter, find peace, happiness, and fulfillment and become whole again. We understand that we can do nothing outside of Jesus. “Apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). Therefore, we hope that you invite us to join you on your life’s journey. You are not alone. We aim to meet you where you are and be with you to support and empower you to obtain victory in your life.
Are you struggling with your faith or seeking for something in which to believe in this world? Do you feel like you don't belong in church or anywhere; kind of like you are alone on an island. Encounters is a counseling agency for people who have been there. That deep dark pit and cannot find their way out. We welcome your doubts and questions, and we don't expect you to wear a fake smile. We encourage you to be genuine and authentic.
We are a non-denominational faith based counseling agency and substance use treatment agency. We have a lot to offer here. We offer state certified domestic violence and anger management classes. We also offer SAPTA certified (State governed Levels of Care. Level 1.0 - Counseling services, and we are a co-occurring treatment and evaluation center.
God does not have a prescribed way to worship Him. While some traditional practices have developed over time, they are not always the best or the only way to worship or build relationship with God. We, Encounters likes to think outside of the box. We recognize it is about relationship rather than the religion. We need to find meaningful ways to develop a relationship with our Higher Power or God, and that is where the life altering skills comes in. All of our practices and teaching are Bible based, as well as our clinicians.
We want everyone who walks through the doors of Encounters to have an encounter with the faithful and merciful love of Jesus, but will settle if you just have an Encounter with yourself. We pray that by coming to Encounters, you will learn what it means to be forgiven. Forgiveness is available to us all who accepts God's gracious gift though Jesus Christ. (It is not God who rejects us; it is us who rejects God).
Salvation is a gift from God that we receive through faith in Jesus Christ. When we trust in Jesus, confess our sins to him, then we are forgiven and made right with God. (You will learn more).
